In October 2026, the whole UnlikelyAI team spent three days together in southern Spain. Around 30 people from commercial, product, engineering and research gathered in one place to connect, discuss and challenge each other.

Bigger. Better. Stronger. That was the theme of our offsite, and we finished the week knowing exactly what each word means for us.

Mission first

Day one opened with our leadership team setting out a clear mission: where the company is heading, and why it matters. Every conversation that followed started from the same place.

Project retro

We looked back at the project from its very first mention. Together, we built a collective timeline of the project on index cards, asked and voted on questions about it in a Q&A, and wrote down our strengths and areas for improvement.

By the end of the session, we had a clearer understanding of what got us here, what our strengths are and where we can improve.

Platform alignment

Day two began with platform alignment. Engineering, research and product agreed where our platform goes next, and a commercial and product marketing session connected that direction to what customers need from us.

Unconference sessions

Much of the programme was run by the team itself. In unconference sessions, people from across the company led discussions on the questions they felt mattered most to the business:

• How closely we listen to customers, and how that shapes what we build next

• How we use AI in our own work, from engineering to the way we reach new customers

• How research and engineering combine their strengths on hard problems

• How we disagree well, so the strongest idea wins

• How we make AI decisions explainable, the question at the heart of our work

It's an open form of discussion that lets everyone jump in and share their views. The format gives ideas room to spark and build on each other.

Team activities

We opened the week with a welcome quiz and shared every dinner after it. On the last afternoon, a round of Last One Laughing tested everyone's straight face, and team activities put our teamwork into practice.

Those moments matter as much as the sessions. Trust between people is what makes hard conversations easier to have.

Bigger. Better. Stronger.

Three days together gave us a shared picture of the year ahead. Here is how our theme will shape it:

• Bigger is our ambition. AI is changing fast, but safety and trust are always at the heart of it. We're building AI people can trust with the decisions that have to be right.

• Better is our standard, in what we build and in how we work.

• Stronger is our commitment, as one team that stands behind its mission.

The next steps we agreed now become our priorities for next year, and every team goes back knowing the part it plays. Now we bring it home and gear up for the challenges ahead.
